In a unique collaboration between Skal Contemporary and Brøndums Hotel, we invite you to a truly special artistic and gastronomic experience on September 5th 2026: an exclusive performative dinner developed in collaboration with visual artist Emilia Bergmark.
With
The Crabs Still Walk Backwards, Skal Contemporary, Brøndums Hotel and artist Emilia Bergmark jointly pose the question:
"At a time when marine environments are under threat and species such as lumpfish and eel are disappearing from Danish coastlines, what happens to our sea-based food culture?"Together with the hotel’s skilled kitchen team, Bergmark has developed a series of specially composed dishes inspired by her research into endangered species and their disappearance from both nature and the dining table. The dinner is staged as a sensory, immersive experience featuring singing sculptural soup tureens, video art, specially composed music, and a bespoke artistic scenography created for the occasion.
